Big Bash cricket
|
Cricket not as we know it but seem to be getting it fairly right in the world of smash bang wallop entertainment. One game each day in prime time Only eight teams Compacted dedicated part of the season so that foreign players can drop in rather than hang around for one game a week Lots of GIMMICKS like flashing bails and miked up players. Hobart Captain George Bailey on the mic all night yesterday talking to his players and making moves...... and only saying FUCK ME once.
Are the counties and ECB ready to try something similar ? Australia have gone for teams in Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide & Hobart with 2 each in Melbourne & Sydney with players contracted separately from their state teams.

2 overs alone for the windies went for 50 runs and the problem with my Amla bet, was that Roussow faced 11 of the fucking deliveries and got 48 of them!
They really are gash.

Windies seem to be in self destruct mode again. I see Narine has withdrawn from the WC as he wants more testing on his darts arm to pass his throw test. Can he be replaced in the 15 if he isn't actually injured?
If I was a Saffa I'd be worried about their normal all conquering build up in this series. Never does them much good.
England have a good build up and this must win game v India is perfect practice for a WC situation. In their favour India haven't actually won a match I think after 2 months in Australia

This ODI series in South Africa must be doing wonders for the Windies odds for anyone wanting to back them.
Their bowling attack actually makes Dernbach look like a cricketer.

I can't lie that I would love for Marsh to get out sooner rather than later.
If he stays in, he'll blast his way to top scorer!

148 Would have taken that at the start but does give Sixers something to defend. One of those in between scores where you need a good start to break it Come on you Scorchers !

These two have done well...but damage done. At least they have given the scorchers a target of sorts

Carters is regarded as one of the pack of keepers forming up as potential Haddin replacements eventually. Good recovery but hopefully Scorchers have enough batting Be good to see Carberry finish off well

I backed Carters today for an outsider at good odds and bloody typical that Henriques finally has a good innings.
Am all over Klinger for the Scorchers. Been a favourite along with Marsh for years, but have to go for the bigger odds.
They have a brilliant batting line up.

Cheers norm :-)
Agree about Maddinson. I watched a Shield match when I was in Perth about a year ago and especially watched him when NSW came in to bat after tea on one day. Coulter-Nile & I think Mitch Marsh were bowling at him and he was way way too loose for an opening batsman in a 4 day game. Scratched and swished around and was out cheaply. Needs to tighten his game A LOT. I think Jordan SILK is regarded more as a possible proper opener to replace Chris Rogers next year.
